Vermont 211

As the longstanding resource for Vermonters to receive connections to help with many things such as heating assistance, substance use, education, aging, food, disabilities, and crises, to name a few, it was a seamless add-on for Vermont 211 staff to be trained to respond to potential instances of exploitation and human trafficking. Give Way to Freedom facilitated this coordination of our efforts. Vermont 211 Call Specialists are trained in trauma-informed communications and their vast statewide database allows them to give options to people confidentially, including to Give Way to Freedom’s Rapid Response Support System.
